After giving my questionnaire out to 12 people. I made my analysis and compare them which would make me find the needs of my target audience. From my data 55% were female and 45% were male. I chose random people from my college and young adults outside the college. I used age range between 16-21 because they are my target audience and I want to know what music genre most of them want.
From my survey this is what I have found and notice about my target audience:
The music genre which my target audience enjoy listing to is R&B followed by pop with 4 votes. This will help me to create a music genre about R&B because this is what they love listing. When it came to the typography most of the candidates prefer 'MV BOLI' and 'VERDANA' with equally 4 votes. This shows that my music magazine texts should be in these two fonts making it easy and clear for them to read from any angle. When it came to their favourite music artists such as Lady Gaga, majority of the candidates prefer to know the latest news about Chris Brown. This indication suggest to me that my readers are more interested in Chris Brown which I should include his latest news and more details of him in the magazine. Most of my candidates chose to see an iconography both male and female since it attract more attention. This will also represent both gender and be a big element in welcoming my target audience. Moreover, using both gender represents each other attitudes in the society. In my questionnaire, I ask my target audience what activities they like to do in their leisure time. About 40% of them spend their time using social media which will be a key concept because they can publish my latest music magazine to their friends and around the globe at any time. When it came to the colour scheme, most of the participants answered that they would like to see sharp deep blue and red. This is significant in my music magazine front cover as it engage and appeal more to my target audience. My readers buy music magazine because they want to find more information about sport, fashion, reviews and free CD. Including this kind of stuff will definitely persuade and allure my reader to get opportunity to win prizes and tickets to watch their favourites celebrities at live shows. Lastly, candidates are likely to pay for a magazine between £1 - £2.
